When your opponent is under some time pressure to leave a block (A block above is about to fall on them, they're on a spike trap, they're on a bomb that's about to collapse) you can block their escape path by standing in front of them. If they input towards you they will go into their pillow fight animation and be stuck in that animation when the hazard goes off killing them. This technique is very basic and very gimmicky as the opponent can always just use an escape method that you're not blocking (usually dropping to a sidle) and its very safe to do. This technique is a gimmick that will only occasionally catch people napping.
Where it becomes interesting though is when you have a create a block item. If you block their escape path from a hazard with a create a block item, you can face them and mash square. Should they attempt to run away from you in any direction the create a block will activate killing them instantly. If they should not attempt to run away from you the hazard will activate killing them instantly. If you ever find yourself in this situation against your opponent its likely a guaranteed kill. The best defense against The Stand in Front in this situation is to avoid being in the situation all together, if you get caught in this situation you are most likely dead.
EDIT: My mistake sidle still beats create a block, its been two years since I tested I guess I forgot in that time . Still use both of these as gimmicks and you'll occasionally catch rounds. If they have a falling block above their head there is a good chance they might be two blocks deep and unable to sidle, in that situation make sure to use this.
